Just as this is a values-led campaign, so is our ask to you: invest in your values so your values can serve others. For this campaign to be successful, it will require resources of all kinds from across our entire community. We invite you to give in ways that are most meaningful to you.
Student Emergency Fund
As alumni and parents from around the world step forward to ask us how they can help Colby students in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, we are reminded of the incredible generosity and support our community unfailingly provides both when times are good and in the face of extraordinary challenges. In response to requests from alumni and parents, the College has established a Student Emergency Fund to directly support our students during this unprecedented transition period. Donations can be made here. For more details on Colby’s response to COVID-19, please visit Colby’s COVID-19 information and resources page.
Gifts to the Colby Fund are put to use in real time to accelerate the pace of progress on our key initiatives and to show the impact of our collective efforts. Giving through the 1813 Society, the Colby Fund for Parents, Friends of Athletics, Friends of Art, and other special areas of the Colby Fund, all support this important campaign priority. Colby strives to make it as easy as possible for donors to make contributions through credit cards, checks, gifts of securities, and other means.
Capital and Endowment Gifts
Capital and endowment gifts enable alumni, parents, and friends to make a permanent difference in the lives of Colby students year after year. They help to build and restore campus facilities and sustain a comprehensive range of academic programs. Endowment opportunities include scholarships, professorships, and funds to support teaching. Anne O’Hanian-Szostak ’72 and Michael J. Szostak ’72 wanted to help Colby discover the next great civic leaders. Learn how they are supporting leadership and teaching with a capital gift to Colby’s endowment.
A planned gift to Colby is one of the most flexible and meaningful ways that you can support future generations of Colby students. Giving through your estate plan or a gift that provides lifetime income can have significant tax benefits while also providing for Colby and your family. Joining the Colby Legacy Society, those who have made a planned gift to Colby, is as easy as designating Colby as a beneficiary of your will, trust, retirement plan, or insurance policy. You do not have to be wealthy to express your loyalty, confidence, and support by remembering Colby in your estate plan. Colby Legacy Society commitments made during the campaign will sustain Colby’s momentum far into the future.
